Right click menu takes 25 seconds to appear
A new problem has just appeared after scanning a couple of hundred photos using a slide-scanner; When I go into a folder and select about four small jpgs and "right-click" to bring up the usual menu for choosing COPY - the menu arrival has gone sluggish and takes about 20 to 30 seconds to appear as I wait for the hour-glass.
This doesn't happen if I do a normal rightclick on say a desktop icon and it doesn't happen the second time I try to select and use the rightclick menu. It's the first time I click on the folder or its content that it takes a long time to start the menu.
Programs in fact have always been slow to start the first time I use them on booting up, but as soon as they've been run or opened once they then start in normal rapid time.
I've defragged and tried setting to an early January restore point to a time when it wasn't doing this, but it's still there.
I've tried registry cleaning and now I'm stuck. Anyone any ideas what is happening here?
Thanks
Plado
