I just purchased and installed a Lexmark Z605 inkjet printer. The following has been sent to Lexmark's Technical Support Center but I was hoping that I could get some help here from anyone who has experienced the same problem firsthand.

The installation of the Lexmark printer driver (version 1.0.4.2) has significantly lengthened my PC's shutdown time from 7s to around 20s. This increase is most evident during the "Shutting down..." screen when the system seems to be idle. I have traced this problem to the service LexBceS (LexBce Server) - the shutdown time goes back to normal when this service is stopped or when I uninstall the printer. The same problem occured for driver version 1.0.4.1 although the service name was slightly different. Is this a known issue and how can I fix it?

Checking services.msc, the details of the service are:
Service name: LexBceS
Display name: LexBce Server
Components it depends on: Remote Procedure Call
Components that depend on it: Print Spooler
I have tried changing the startup type to Manual, but it gets launched during Windows startup anyway. I'm guessing I can't disable it if I want to print anything. Please assist.
