Navigate to the XP folder you copied and start setup.exe.... Or for more control over the install, go into folder i386 and click "winnt32.exe.

Hi
Make sure your CD-ROM is set to first boot device(CMOS),and then put your XP disc in the drive, and restart your computer, and follow instructions, you will be given choices that apply to your situation.

Shaman, does your system boot with the XP cd in it or is the cd totally unreadable? If you can boot to the install with the cd then you are offered an option of where to install from (it asks for the i386 directory), browse to that folder on your other partition to install from.

Hmmm... I've just double clicked winnt.exe in the i386 folder and setup started no probs. Did you try both options?

winnt32.exe is designed to be a command line program. Should allways work.

If you are trying to began setup in DOS, then run winnt.exe.

If you are going to start it from DOS, you will have to load smartdrv also.
