XP Pro Network

I need to have incoming access to my computer for games, applications and such. My network is set up at home so that the cable modem is connected to the main computer through a router/firewall, and i am connected to the main computer through a phoneline network.

I succesfully port forwarded the main computer through the hardware router and the applications work there, but i couldnt figure out how to do the same to the phoneline network.

I tried messing with the Internet Gateway settings for the shared connection(router to modem) where you can add ports and such but so far nothing has worked, im not sure if i set it up correctly

Anybody know how to do this?

I've seen phone line networks, they let you hook all the computers in the house up to each other through the existing phone wires.

You can only forward ports to one machine at a time with your router. So you cannot forward port 1155 to 192.168.0.1 and also to 192.168.0.2, as an example.

The only other solution is to setup your machine or the "main" computer as a DMZ host on the router. This will cause the router to essentially put that computer outside of the firewall, etc. so that all internet traffic can be received by that machine. This may interfere with the port forwarding on the "main" computer as well, though.

So the short answer is: you can't forward the same port to two different machines.

Thanks for the input

So if i need the port forwarded only to the second computer would that be possible? The problem is that i cannot access it from the router since it is on a different network and so cannot follow the same procedure as i had before.

Would setting up my main computer as a DMZ make it act like another router? and do i need any new software for that?
