Angry Windows Media Player Problem...

Hi

Hopefully someone will be able to help me with this problem, its been driving me crazy! Recently, my windows media player sort of died. It decided not to let me add anything new to my library, making listening to music very annoying. When i try to add a particular file, it gives me an "unknown error." When i try to add music by searching my computer, it recognizes all the files, but then wont add them. To make things worse, i deleted my whole library in hopes of adding it all over again from scratch, and none of it will, even the files that were already in there. I've looked through all the options, and cant find anything that works, and there is nothing about this in the help either. Very frustrating. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jesse Waldman

by the way, i have XP home edition, and windows media player 9 series. I have tried re-installing windows media, but to no avail.. it wont let me uninstall it, and when i re-install it, the problem is still there.

When you click on the add / remove button in Control Panel,, it will open a box with all the items listed,, there is a side bar on that box (left side) it says "Add / Remove Windows Components"

cheers

arghhhh

ahh

well, i did the add-remove windows components thing, removed WMP component, then re-downloaded WMP, rebooted, and it wasnt in my programs menu... so i re-added the component, thinking that since i had reinstalled it, it would somehow be different. But, alas, not in my fortune. Still doesnt work.

Thanks for the help though, any other ideas?
Jesse
