Local Profile Troubles
I'm trying to use local profiles to cleanup desktops in my labs at the university and have had success in a couple of labs, but am having trouble now. I first create a folder(C:Profiles), then point my profiles to C:\Profiles\Labg5. I then get my desktop just the way I want it and navigate to C:\Profiles\Labg5\ntuser.dat and change that name to ntuser.man. So now I figure if I reboot it should be ok. In two labs everything works almost perfect, but in a couple labs I get random behavior like some Icons I've inserted missing from desktop, or the C:\documents and settings folder being flooded with labg5.000-labg5.00x(where x is the number of times the computer has been rebooted since the profile has been created) folders(all containing profile information and the labg5.00x being the folder in use at any given time). Have I missed anything that anyone can think of? I've looked and tried to find what the difference is between the labs that work and the ones that do not, but to no avail. Please help anyone! Thanks!!
