Compaq Presario 2100us Bios

Does anyone know the key sequence or procedure for flashing the bios on a Compaq Presario 2100us notebook.

The OS is Windows XP home.

I did something stupid and downloaded and installed the wrong bios update. The computer is basically dead on startup except for the power light and accessing the cd\dvd and then goes quiet. Nothing on the screen.

A friend mentioned I needed to flash the bios and return to the encoded version.

Any help ?
