fresh install win xp pro for speed

My system is a dual p3 933 ghz
system ram 768mb rambus
SCSI 160 Ultra three 9gig drives
intalling 3 new SCSI 160 ultra 73gig hard drives with a fresh Windows XP Pro install
4 36gig SCSI2 hard drives as backup for music and data files.
oneide cdrw sexyplexy drive, one ide cd drive 48speed Liteone, and one SCSI cd drive 24speed sexyplexy.
SETI with 2301 units completed.

Okay I am in the right church maybe wrong pew.
I have Windows XP in a SCSI system. I have three hard drives all of them are 9 gigs. I have read in CPU Magazine and Maximum PC, Minimum BS that you or me want to partition the hard drive and install windows into its own partition and very thing else into another partition. I have tried to do that on 2 different computers. My three drives are called c:windows, d:games, and e:work. The programs I install then go into one of these drives. The only thing I put into c: windows is the windows xp program. Every other program is a game or work. So that Itunes are in d:games and e:word is in work. My antivirus program is in e:work as is my lava soft ad aware. Mostly if it is fun it goes into d:games and if it is a work program it goes in to the dreaded work drive. (Why has my word drive ever failed or lost any data? I do back up the data files) I put the swap files onto (or is it into) or is it paging files the e:work drive.
I always fill up my c:windows drive. Every program install wants to default to the c:windows drive. I put it in to the fun drive or the work drive depending on what it is. Every program leaves something in the c:windows drive. Over time the c:windows drive fill’s up with the stuff that must be in that drive. Now c:windows is full (maybe some temp internet files or temp files?) What could it be? Am I full of baloney (I was going to use a harsher word) but I just pooped. What is going on? I am going to do a fresh install of windows and install new 73 gig drives. I have issues (my daughters polite way of saying f*&k$#g problems) with Norton antivirus and this a driving force to do a clean install. The old 9 gigs are going to hold data backups to my music files and data files. Maybe one of them could become the swap file drive; I only have 768 of ram. It is amazing what collects in a year’s time of trying different programs or updates. (Okay maybe the thought process is a little faulty with the placement of the last sentence. As you dear reader may see a reason why later in this narrative)
Okay okay okay (as in Joe Pessi in Lethal Weapon.) So I have been rambling for a while. Next couple of questions are what to save, the outlook files *pst are one, what is the favorite folder files name? What else do I want to save that I will forget to save if you dear reader (kind of a clockwork orange reference to you the reader) do not jog my mind?
I plan to install Norton antivirus and Internet firewall after windows and before any other program. (Yes I have used zone alarm) Then all of the other Symantec stuff (pc anywhere winfax pro BUT NEVER Norton System Tools I got burned on system tools on all of my scsi computers.) then I will install Microsoft Office 2003. Then the fun stuff: got to fly and submarine and shoot aliens and lead armies and build cities and listen to tunes you know. Then back to the work stuff,
I can not believe the frustration computers bring to my like ane the fact that I stay in a frustrating environment. I just went to post to this artical and now it is lost in the ether of the universe. And they ask me why I drink.

okay okay okay I like the idea of moving the my documents and temp internet files to another hard drive. I can easly do that. (yea right) i would put them on one of the 9 gig hard drive like this F:my documents and F:temporary internet files and F:restore points. What is the file name of restore points? I will put the page swap file on a diferent 9 gig hard drive.

Can I move all the files that are on the C: drive such as program files to a different hard drive. If I keep only on the C: drive the WINNT and the %SYSTEMROOT% then I could then have a very lean c: drive. then I could use one of the 9gig hard drives as the windows program file/system only. that should speed up my system.

any thoughts or help would be welcomed!!

Any and all spelling or grammatical errors can be explained with this statement: I tested out of freshman English because I took (you thought I was going to leave the work toke in there didn’t you) the same English class for the last three years of my high school career. My highest grade was a B-.
I was a little disjointed on this thread so please in the kindness of your ethernet connection give advice thanks again.
