How do I get Notepad/Wordpad/DAP and other non-IE windows to open full size??

(Sorry, maybe this isn't an XP problem as such but none of the other forums were appropriate either)

I know that in Internet Explorer you maximise the window then hold 'Shift' and close it but this doesn't usually work for non-browser windows. It would be so nice not having to maximise ALL the time.

Follow the link below to a program called 'Autosizer', I've had Windows XP Pro from day one, and this is the only way I know.

Posted this in another forum and got what I believed to be the perfect answer I was looking for:

Go to the shortcut for any of these programs, right-click and select 'Properties', select the 'Shortcut' tab at the top, and next to 'Run:' change the setting to 'Maximised'.

Wordpad and DAP are now fixed. But...this works if you open a NEW notepad file..but if I create a Notepad document, save it, then re-open it is still not maximised (however Wordpad does for some reason).
