BlueScreen Blues....

G'day people! I'm new here (haven't really had a problem before) but was hoping I might be able to get some help.

I keep on getting BSOD's. Now, I've been told that this happens when something really stuffs up. I submitted the 'Error Report' upon reboot and it told me that it was likely caused by a hardware fault.

Can anyone tell me what the following mean:

Are you running Windows XP or Windows 2000?

I did think to look in the library but I'm new to this and am catching up - I had no idea what to look for. Do you by any chance know what all the numbers and addresses in the Error Report were all about? I wan't to learn that stuff too

BTW - I'm using XP (thinking of Linux, though )

those number are generated when your system crashed by the operating system for further analysis if needed basically the numbers are from Physical Memory Description:

Example:
FileOffset Start Address Length
00001000 00001000 0009e000
0009f000 00100000 00eff000
00f9e000 01000000 0efdb000
if you want to learn this ,, then you have to start learning a bit about programing

Linux is always a Good Idea for alternative OS.

When I had that error, my RAM was bad. Try www.memtest86.com to check.

I have this error as well, and i just ran memtest, only one pass tho. I also deleted kmixer.sys and windows reinstalled it for me. I will report back if i dont/do crash again.

Nope i just crashed in Counter Strike Source
