right click won't open properties menu

when right clicking on desktop icons to get to sub menu ,,nothing happens.....can't get to rename, delete, etc.........

Try opening some program like Word and right clicking; do you get a right-click menu?

The reason why i ask is because some mouse software allows you to disable right clicking or assign it a different function. If you can't ever right click, this would most likely be your problem. You would have to open the mouse program and change your settings.
