Video Playback Error

Help!! I am suddenly experiencing errors when palying any videos, whether through Dvd Player, Windows Media Player, Nero Showtime, or Creative Media Player. Same problem occurs with each and every prog: video plays for a short time , then freezes , skips,or video freezes. Using Creative Sound Audigy 2, Nvidia geFORCE 4600 tI. Cannot find any device probs Appreciate any ideas. Everything worked fine until last couple of days, but can't find anything that would have changed.

what kind of videos? are these straight off the shelf from a store, or out of downloads? if you go to the divx.com site, they have a codec you can dl for free that helped me to play most any type of file possibly linked to a video file. hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply, but, this doesn't involve just dvd's, but all types of videos, mpg, dvd, avi, etc. I have the feeling it involves some kind of memory access. Almost as if a buffer of some kind is not keeping up. The Video will actually freeze on a frame and the audio will be stuck like an old vinyl lp used to do.
