Blank desktop / NO desktop after log-on!!!

Do you have a desktop picture? you say you can't run CDs, is that from within Windows or bootable? i.e. Norton, XP, Vista etc.

You could try and load safe mode, by pressing F8 during boot up, and select Safe mode.

If you can get in to there, try a system restore by doing the following:

Start - Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System restore.

Select a restore point to when it last worked, and see if that helps,

if that fails, you'll more likely need to run a system recovery to get your machine back up and running.

Yes I have a desktop picture. I can't run CD at all. I'll try the safe mood real fast.
My system restore points have been completely erased.

You will need to recover your pc to it's original factory condition. Recovery.

I got the same thing and i figured it out.
Right click on the desktop, press view, and click on the last option "view desktop icons". Hope that helps.
