Problem with MSCONFIG after recent windows updates

I downloaded the recent xp security updates from microsoft's web site and noticed that it blanked all the check marks under the startup and services tabs within msconfig and you can't enable them. I have seen this happen on 3 computers so far since the recent updates have been installed. Has anyone else experienced this ? Or know of a way to correct the problem ?

Thanks
