registry/driver problem
Here is my problem, I have a dsl connection and I loaded a new version of windows xp pro on my computer and when I brought up the dsl to connect to the internet, it would not get a network connection. I uninstalled DSL and reloaded it but it says the PPPoe is unable to access the connection manager. I was told by dsl technical support to uninstall the the dsl connection manager, go into start/control panel/network connections and create a new connection but when I do it should give me three options. A. manual modem connection. B. password connection which I want and C. Automatic Lan/DSL connection which I dont want because It does a 2min connection and then disconnects. Basically I want the Password network connection, but it will not give me the option. I was told it was a registry issue or a driver issue. Anyone have any idea on what I should do? Thanks
