XP Language question

Purchased a new machine in Germany with XP preloaded. XP language interface is German and I would like to change it to English. Can that be done without a reinstall of XP?
A follow-on to that, can I change the XP language to English for my profile ony?

Have you tried regional and language options in control panel?

Yeah, but it only affects the manner in which certain items are displayed,( ie., currency, etc.). Doesn't affect the language that Windows "speaks" (in a gui sense) to me in.
Input from others seems to indicate that I will have to purchase a whole new copy of XP. C'est la vie, I guess........

Good idea, Augie... I've got XP Home with this machine, so I'll see about an upgrade to Pro and then the Multi-Lingual pack. Thanks for the input. I guess, whatever the case, I should be studying my German more quickly...... I want to be fluent anyway....
