Saving images problem...SOLVED

Hi,

I'm brand new to the forum. Whew! Glad I found it!

I'm running XP Pro 5.1, SP1.

For some reason, when I right-click on images, XP wants to save the image as a bitmap with the file name of simply "bitmap".

I used to be able to save as a .jpg with the correct filename.

Have I inadvertently chosen a setting to make this happen?

I found a solution using the Search feature.

when you say "save Picture as" ,, XP will ask you where first,, then at the button of the dialog box there is a drop down menu,, you have to select "JPG" ,, then, when you want to do the same thing next time,,it will remember that.
