Registry Access

Is there any way to read the registry of a secondary Windows XP installation? I had to reinstall my Windows and am missing my application cd and need my cd-key. I made a backup of this drive to a secondary HD but I am working with a laptop and can not put the secondary drive in again as it is a desktop HD that was ghosted to.

To my knowledge you can only retrieve the product ID, not the product key needed for installation, from the registry.

Not needing the Windows Key, but application settings and one cd-key for a particular application that I know is in the registry.
