Narrator Help Please

Is there a way to get the narrator in winxp home to read the text in an IM message box. By this I mean a continous flow. I am useing this feature of XP as a teaching tool, and would be grateful for any help. Maybe there is a link some one could pass along that would contain some answeres. Thank you very much.

there are third party software programs that work with other messengers, imspeak on the link below covers most instant messengers.
