This fix often works when hyperlinks don't work in IE, OE or Word.

1. Click Start, click Run, type the following command in the Run dialog box, and then click OK:
regsvr32 urlmon.dll
2. Repeat step 1 for each of the following commands:

regsvr32 mshtml.dll
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 browseui.dll
regsvr32 msjava.dll

Is IE your default browser? Re-registering the dlls only works if you have Internet Explorer selected as your default browser.

Assuming you're using OE and IE, try this, a fix that's worked for me 95% of the time for the problem you're having:

Open Windows Explorer, go to Tools>Folder Options>File Types tab.

1. In the Registered File Types box, click URL:File Transfer Protocol, and then click Edit.
2. In the Actions box, click Open, and then click Edit.
3. The Application Used To Perform Action box may display the path to your Web browser as a short file name. Type the path to your Web browser using the full file name. For example, change:
c:\progra~1\intern~1\iexplore.exe

-to-

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome (including the quotation marks).

4. Click OK, and then click Close.
5. Repeat steps 3-6 for the following registered file types:
URL:Gopher Protocol
URL:Hypertext Transfer Protocol
URL:Hypertext Transfer protocol with Privacy
6. Click Close.
