Limiting startup programs

I've got WinXP home, and when I startup the system, it comes to life.

Unfortunatly, so do another dozen programs, who sit in the task tray awaiting their use. But they take resources, and i don't use then often, so... Is there a way to set an account to limit what comes up on startup?

None of there things are in the "Startup" folder, and i have failed to find "do not startup on startup" options, so... anyone got any ideas?

Start > Run > (type) msconfig > OK > (tab) Startup

Uncheck the ones that you don't want starting at Startup.


If you have Spybot S&D there is a similar Startup window where you can uncheck the programs that you don't want running at Startup.
