Dial up at login

Using XP Home...

When I log in (click on my account icon on the welcome screen), The PC immediately tries to dial out. It takes about 10 attempts to stop it.

Any ideas as to what might be causing this. Any suggestions as to a solution?

Firstly try Tools/Internet Options/Connections. Tick "Never dial a connection". If that fails to work download Ad-Aware from Lavasoft and see if you have a rouge dialer program.
