HP Pavillion Printing Problems / HP Pavillion

Hello,

I just did a clean install on a HP Pavillion 7867 of XP Professional. Everything works fine accept printing. I am able to to successfully install the printer drivers and set the default printer. When ever I try to print I get the following message.

"Windows cannot print due to a problem to a problem with the current printer setup.
Try on of the following:
*Check the printer by printing a test page from Windows.
*Make sure the printer is turned on and online.
*Reinstall the printer driver"

I have done these things multiple times with no success. Note I have tried to install three other printers that work perfectly and get the same error when trying to pint. Additionally, I tried installing a usb printer with the same results.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Regards,

cbarone@dca.net

HP Deskjet 952C - Parallel connection. Additionally, I get the same message with a USB printer as well. This printer and cable work perfectly, tested it on 3 other computers.

in the bios of the computer, when you power on tap the delete key,F1,F2,F10......depending on your motherboard. in the settings, you will have to look around, many different types of motherboards and software vendors make this difficult to explain,...look for the parallel port, and check for settings, they will be ECP,SPP,or EPP. if you have a both option , use it, or epp+spp. may have to try all combinations.
