Can't remove 'My Documents' from Windows Explorer!

Can anyone help me with this?

I am trying to remove 'My Documents' from the left pane (folder tree) of Windows Explorer.

I've tried Group Policy Editor settings and adding various registry values and nothing seems to work. At best all they do is move the 'My Documents' icon from the top of the folder tree to the bottom. The icon is gone from the desktop, but not from Windows Explorer. And if I just right click on the icon and delete it, it goes away temporarily, but shows up again when I restart Windows Explorer!

I'm running Windows XP Pro.

thanks!

To unregister the mydocs.dll

Click Start, then Run and type: regsvr32 /u mydocs.dll

You can simply reregister it again by typing:

regsvr32 mydocs.dll

How to open windows Explorer in your favorite Directory without "My Documents"

simply right click on the Windows Explorer icon (in the quicklaunch area or elsewhere, wherever the WE folder icon appears). change the "Target" from %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe to %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,/root,/select,D:\.

That is, add " /e,/root,/select,D:\" to the Target line, where "D:\" is the folder in which you wish to have WE customarily open. Hit "Apply" and "Close".

WE now opens in your selected folder without the annoying "My Documents" folder ever being displayed.
