Boot problem

Have XP Pro/Media. Almost every time I reboot, I get a qttask.exe error. It says it cannot find the harddrive. I do not know how to get rid of this aggrevation. I suspect that it began when I tried to download Adobe Acrobat update by mistake. I thought I had the correct program to get the update, and did not. Adobe took care of their part, but I "think" it might still be looking for some hidden code. (The error started happening about the same time).

How can search this out?

qttask.exe is your Quick Time Tray Icon. It's the system tray bar application for Apple QuickTime that allows a user to access QuickTime from the system tray.

I would suggest going into msconfig and shutting it off.

Start > Run > (type) msconfig > (tab) Startup

Thank you. You have solved the easiest of my problems. Now if you could only fix the MAJOR problem about two or three posts below. I think I have a virus, but many different scans have not shown any. Please help! I have a final paper due, and something is messing up my system.
