Question Problems connecting to Inet through IE

I run Win XP SP1
I have installed Int Exp 6.0.2800.1106

I'm pretty good with PC's & windows but this one has got me stumped!

If I go START, Connect to & then select my ISP dial up connection the computer connects to the Internet fine.

I I load outlook & press Send/Receive then the Dial up connection appears & I press connect & the computer connexts to the internet fine.

HOWEVER, If I click on the blue "e" to load internet explorer then a box appears labeled "WORK OFFLINE". Inside the box it says "No connection to the Internet is currently available. To view Internet Content which has been saved on your computer click Work Online. Click Try Again to attempt to connect.

All my Dial up settings seem to be correct, (After all I have'nt changed them!)

My deafult connection is shown & I have it selected to "Always Dial my Default connection."

Problem keeps happening. Could Spyware do this? How could visiting web pages cause this?

I have the same problem, sounds like it could be a virus or spyware, but my scans have picked up nothing.

Smile RESOLVED - Problem fixed for me !!!!!!

Do you have the Google Toolbar? I'm assured that it is connected with the "hearts" thing that appeared yesterday. This is the solution - browse to C:\Program Files\Google\ggext1.dll delete the ggext1.dll I made a backup of it just incase, I can now connect through IE with the connection box appearing.
