Big crash problem

Screwed up. Made a registry mistake. Sony notebook. CD drive hasn't worked for sometime. Trying to repair XP, but can't see external CD drive from startup, BIOS. MS floppy boot disks don't work. "NTDETECT" error message. How do I get startup to see F drive?

Copy these files to a floppy NTLDR , NTDETECT and BOOT.INI

Boot from that floppy and that should get you into XP if the OS is intact , if it is not you should be able to get to safe mode where you can do repairs on the system.
