istalling win xp on laptop

hi, i am trying to install win xp on laptop after full format. the setup starts, loads all the files and then displays a massage that no hard drives could be found.

*when i boot the computer with boot cd i can see the hard disk, format it, and whatever else, but windows setup cannot see it. (not even 98 or me)

is anyone familiar with this?
thanks

What type of hard drive is it ? If its an SATA drive ? You might need to enter the driver before installing windows , When you start at the begining to install windows ? I believe you need to hit the F6 key at which point you would install the driver for it , Personally I have never had the need to do such but I have read from others that they have done so

i tried that and when i try to install the HD, win xp says that it didn`t detect any floppy drives (it is a laptop and has no floppy) and doesn`t check the cd with the driver in the cdrom.

This article explains how to insert drivers needed to install xp. This particular article deals with network drivers but its the same principle for your sata drivers.

Yeah I know trying to install the driver without a floppy drive can be a little hard , Though you can use a usb floppy drive and I know there some programs were you can intergrate the driver within windows , let me see if I can find it
