Angry Updates Not Loading

I am running XP Pro service pack 3, on an HP Pavilion "AMD 64". My security is AVG '08. I have my system doing automatic updates, but I am receiving a message that states "The following updates were not installed:"
Security Update for Windows XP (KB951376)
Cumulative Security Update for ActiveX Killbits for Windows XP (KB950760)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB950762)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB951698)
Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool - June 2008 (KB890830)
Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP (KB950759)

I have tried disabling my security and the update still failed to install. Can anyone tell me if this has happen to you are maybe someone you know. If so exactly how was this problem solved?

Try this:

1. Click Start, Run, and type cmd (press Enter) to access the command prompt window.
2. Type the following commands; then press Enter after each command (followed by OK)
a. regsvr32 wuapi.dll
b. regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
c. regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
d. regsvr32 wucltui.dll
e. regsvr32 wups.dll
f. regsvr32 wups2.dll
g. regsvr32 wuweb.dll
3. Type exit to return to Windows and attempt the updates again

I teach computer repair to high school kids and at a local community college. Some of my students have had the same problem. Found the solution at www.microsoft.com by searching for Windows Won't Update. Don't ever overlook Microsoft's database for solutions on Windows' products. What I suspect happens is that the update service somehow gets corrupted during the updating process and has to be restarted. That's why you were doing.

Thanks

Well once again "Thank you", I will also take your advice on keeping my eyes on Microsoft's database for solutions on Windows' products.
