having problem with usb harddisk

my usb harddisk maxtor 5000Le is not working properly with my os

i ama runing win xp
whenever i plugged in my hd it shows a message that a high speed device is plugged into a non high speed port

but all my usb ports are usb 2.0

and all of them are showing as un-used.

what can i do with this problem?
