Network connections Apear and Change

Hi all....
Im having trouble,so any help would be apreciated.

Let me start at the start and take it away!
i just done a quick format of my hard drive and i still have a load of stuff left over from my previous account,some of it is accesible and some not...
how can i fix this..would it of left any spyware or bad programes there to.?
Then i opened my network connections and i had a network bridge there thats called "Paul - Home" ..funny when my name isnt paul.
Could this be from my old account,bridging to my new account??
Then the next day it had changed from "Paul - Home" to..
Internet gateway....
then 2day it has changed to "Didi" dial up i think!

i do not have dialup anymore..who is paul?? is my pc out of my control?
plus another strange thing is twice this year my laptop battery has gone flat overnight when it was shutdown...and i dont have any secuduled tasks running!

Try a full format - see if that gets rid of everything.

In regards to the 'Paul account', sounds like someone may have set up a backdoor with an account for themselves. Is it an Administratior account? If it's only a 'limited account', there shouldn't be any serious problems. If, however, it is an Admin account, well that could be a worry (to say the least).

I'm not sure how to fix it, or find out how it got there (I'm still learning myself ), but this may be what has happened.
