outlook express 6 help

Hi, I've used O/E for years with no problems until yesterday. I received several Emails from a friend in the Philippines who uses Yahoo mail,with no problem. Then yesterday I received one that looked as follows:

DIV>
<DIV>
<DIV>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Dear Bob,</FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman">&nbsp;<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o></FONT></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoBodyText style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Wow! you had and have a great life.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>You are lucky enough.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN> etc.

I ask to have it resent but it returned the same.It looks as it's in another fomat, but since I have HTML and rich text enabled I don't understad. As I said I have had previuos mail from this addess without a problem. Baffles me unless I inadvertantly changed a setting.
What have I done or is there an internatiol setting or format I need to correct? Could this be from the senders mail server? I have learned that Its a PHP script and is Microsoft (strange since they ARE outlook Express).Does any one know if PHP is compatiple with O/E?

Send a message via MSN to snowmonkey
I would not be alarmed by this and I would not change any of my OE setting,, if it is only one email or a once a while thing ! yes,, it most probably is from the sender ? do you have any issue with someone else's email ?

Even though you think that email came from your friend, it could have come from one of those spam site,, they can spoof anyone email address, have you checked the sender's IP address ?

cheers
