Win2k Drivers work with XP

Sorry if I'm violating any rules here by posting twice within a few hours of each other, but I was getting drivers for all my hardware but when I got around to the soundcard and looked at Creative Labs website, it says that they don't have anything drivers for XP for my soundcard. So I was wondering would the drivers for Windows 2000 work?? Because 2000 and XP are built on the same core right?? But anyway, since drivers for 2000 is the next best thing I can find, would it work or should I look elsewhere. By the way, the card is a Sound Blaster Ensoniq AudioPCI, not a super duper card but I needed one in a bind and I got that one for free, so.... Thanks in advance for any help.

Post as much as you want M8.
After a perusal of the net, your card is apparently supported by xp native drivers.
2000 drivers will possibly work, maybe not fully though. You can only try.

It is wild the hardware xp knows about.
I have an old asus me-99b with a c3 800 on it all old hardware
sb 16 pci, real old scsi card, linksys nic, usb composit video in,
and voodoo 3 pci.. i never had to install a driver 1. except driver
to get udma going.

This box was a junker built from spare parts to test xp pro on and man it worked nice. Even the old smart and friendly 6x scsi
burner worked just fine.

Only troubles i have is cd burning software. ive tried em all lol.
nero burned blank unreadable cds at times (random) even verified em as good but seen nothin after the burn. roxio works a bit better but it crashes at times too just freezes. cdrwin works perfect and so did the burning included in xp pro. even tried a newer 24x ide burner nero and roxio still brain dead most of the time.

But other than that old hardware all is fine. xp is nice with hardware. it took driver after driver to get win2k to fly on here and it still sucked. xp surprised me. so dont worry much bout drivers.. its so good i forgot to unplug the usb video in and an old logitech gamepad when i installed xp. it set em both up on its own. gates finally got an installer that really works i think..

good luck and i think you will like xp.

asus me-99b/c3800
384meg
sb16 pci
linksys network everywhere nic
who knows scsi card (i never looked at it lol) came with 6x s&f
4 old junk box ide drives
voodoo 3 pci
xp loves it. 2k hated it and 98 liked it ok after 50 driver installs
