Winsock Missing!!!!! Plz Help

My OS is Windows XP SP1a and i also have Visual Basic .net installed. Also i have Visual Stiudio 6 installed, now the problem is like this, once i opened vb6 to try out some winsock programs and found out that winsock was not installed, i have tried a hell lot of things, changed registry keys, i also have tried that WinsockXPFix.exe, that damm exe corrupted my network, really it sucks, then i had to recover my system regsitry thru recovery console, eveythin is fine but there is no winsock, i have a working internet connection, a local nitranet but no winsock, (no mswinsck.ock in windows\system folder) is this possible.

P.S. I also downloaded mswinsck.ocx and registered it with regsvr32, then it was available in my vb6, but when i tried to use it, it gave some licensing error, which is.
"Licensing information for this product not found. You do not have an appropriate license to use this functionality in the design environment."
