Start Regedit.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control.
Click on the "Control" Folder.

If your Registry doesn't have the "WaitToKillServiceTimeout" String, create it:
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control
right-click on an empty spot in the Regedit window -> select New -> String -> name it "WaitToKillServiceTimeout

i seen a screenshot of your desktop not long ago, you have a bunch of reg cleaners, one is bound to have a undo file on-board. if the post ultrasolve dont fix you up, look through those.

Shutdown XP Faster
Start Regedit.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control.
Click on the "Control" Folder.
Select "WaitToKillServiceTimeout"
Right click on it and select Modify.
Set it a value lower than 2000 (Mine is set to 200).
does that mean make a DWORD or what?

double click on the name "WaitToKillServiceTimeout", in the bottom box "Value data" that's where you make the changes .
For your information 2000= 2 seconds

Azn_tweaker, i have read many of your post, i do have a tip. this is not meant to sound rude, just trying to help. you need to read and become a expert on how to backup your system and reg. i notice you try almost every software program you can lay your hands on, try every tip you come across. this is not a bad thing because you are eager to learn. i have seen you have had more then 1 anti virus, reg cleaner among other things that come to mind i have read from your post. this sort of thing causes severe problems. i almost never post a reg edit or fix, mostly post a link if i post at all on the subject because of the possible results from a reg edit gone wrong. i actually like reading your post because at one time, when i had more time i tried everything. the best way to fix the reg is from a backup made when the system was running right. i admit some software can cause problems in the registry that can be easily repaired with a minor reg edit and all work as it should, but when you install tweak, fix-it and anti virus programs as much as you have described this is going to be on-going problems that the best tech in the world could not possibly know the answer to just from you posting the trouble in a forum. they can not possibly know the history of all you have done to your computer.
