Problem with CS

I don't know if I should put this here or not. Maybe in the software thread? But this is a game...so in the game forum? It seems the senior members here are a lot smarter about everything in general than everyone else so I'll just post it here and see what happens.

Well, I've been playing on Steam for quite some time now with no problems but today I got an error message that said:


Half-Life Launcher has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I clicked a button for more info and was presented with this:

What the heck is this crap? Is this supposed to make sense to anybody? Seemingly random combinations of letters and numbers is somehow supposed to show me what the hell the problem is?! *sigh* Well, if any of you know what to do then tell me. I've tried reinstalling Half-Life and it's latest updates along with Steam, all to no avail, the same message rears it's ugly head again. Any help is greatly appreciated.

i play games but not alot, i have half life but have yet to have the time to play it. most of the time the game needs a patch when it has errors, sometimes users have work arounds that fix a situation, being i am not really sure i will give you a link to a forum that should be able to answer all of you hl questions.
