Question Windows XP Home: Registry Tinkering

I was tinkering with the registry, deleted a few keys, now I can not type number, one, two, five, six, and nine, and zero, and any of the shift functions on these keys. Felt like a good idea at the time. I found out how to use the restore after the damage was done. The automatic restore did not solve the problems. Is there anyway I could export the original keyboard settings. I have a NEC Versa E4hundred, zeroes don't work either. Don't mess with the registry, I guess.

I've never heard of anything like this happening, but it's funny I guess it's a good lesson not to mess with the registry if you don't know what you're doing.

Try this:

Right click my computer->properties->hardware->device manager.

Click the plus sign next to "Kepboards" and remove the listed keyboards. Then reboot the computer. Should cause windows to recreate the hardware profile for the keyboard, hopefully that will fix it.

Yeah! Nobody should tinker with the regestry unless it is totally neccersary, and they know what they are doing it and have a plan as to how, or are trained or know what they're doing well enough to feel safe. The regestry can be a cruel mistress!

No, Success

No, i tried that straight away, In some ways I don't regret it, I think I am close to fixing the problem. It a matter of once again going into the registry and trying reassign those numbers, but it's all a bunch a code so I still don't have a clue. there are key rempapping keys but I don't want to pay $fifteen. Anyway have instructions on reprogramming the number keys in the registry, or perhaps a free program. I think perhaps it may have even been a program I downloaded from the internet that may have caused the problems.

Next time you mess with the registery you should save it first so any mistakes can be fixed quick..But what you are doing is trial and error nothing wrong in that as that is how we learn

Did you try going to control panel/keyboard/hardware/properties/driver. You can troubleshoot it from there. My troubleshooter tells me to reinstall the device.

Smart Fuck

I afraid to say my bro is a real smart fuck, smarter than me, went into the bios, couldn't type two, five etc, thus the keyboard is broken. Don't buy NEC, it's shit. Versa 4-- , ie zero zero, only six months old.

Windows End Loser

This teaches you never to believe/assume the end loser followers of Billy Gates & Co knows what he is talking about. It wasn't the registry tinkering after all. There will come a day when all end users of Windows wake up. Just like the Americans who have the freedom and great democracy to have the chance to be poor and without a job in the name of Justice, and a WMD free world. Iraq will soon have the same freedom to spit on your neighbour and let them be homeless or starve when they are hungry. Saddam Hussein is looking like God compared to how Bush treats his own people, but then most Americans don't have much intelligence so he will be relected in the name of democracy and freedom and all that shit that really equal homelessness and no food.

Also go here www.prisonplanet.com and www.infowars.com and www.whatrealyhappened.com and http://www.dmckin.us/yabbse/index.php This last one has excellent files. Check the places out i also go to a few others, have you downloaded and watched the Alex Jones videos?

There is a lot of info out there..

Goto google and type in "northwood documents" If you don't know about the Northwood documents then you are going to be surprised.
Also type in PNAC read about it..

My God Man! What a fabulous speach, other than the point where you say that the End-Users of Windows will wake up; which makes no sense as they are all perfectly conscious when they purchace and use Windows otherwise they would not be able to use it. I think you mean to say that Windows Users will say poo to Windows and go to another OS, Mac OS X perhaps (boo!) or indeed one of the hundreds of pointless Linux versions (big pooey boo!). This would also be wrong in the fact that what would they go to Linux or Mac for which they don't already have from Windows in more Quality and Quantity!

Are you a Communist or a Fascist? Either way I say Hi Ho! At last a kindred spirit of mine! Personally, I am neither, I am an Extreme War-Communist/Extreme Meritocracist. This would be joining at the centre of the Dohnut shaped Political Spectrum in what I call the Extreme Centre, or Centralism, which is highly Anti-Capitalist and Anti-American:
  • Where everything is owned by the Country (Greathanc)
  • Payment to people is given by the State, according to references from your Superior, work done, and capability
  • Jobs are set for unemloyed people by Greathanc according to capability and profession if they are out of a job for more than 2 weeks
  • Underqualified people are given adult-schooling until they are qualified unless they do not get qualified within 5 years at which point they are deported from Greathanc and set up in another Country where they can suck that system
  • All resources farmed, mined, built, fished, and all Sevices are controlled by Greathanc; all profit is given to the country, all losses are taken by the country, and all resources are given to the company by Greathanc
  • Houses above professional status set by Greathanc can be purchased, and are owned by the state, but free housing according to professional staus and need (children and the like) is given freely by the Government

I love this system, it would iron out all forms of Capitalism for a more reasonable and fare system of Meritocracy and War-Communism! People say Democracy is freedom, and that you can't have freedom without Democracy. I say otherwise; it is democracy that allows freedom in our unseeing world; but true freedom is in a government which is not Capitalist - Capitalism restricts freedom. A basic human-right; so technically American is inhibiting Human-rights!

About Weapons of Mass Destruction; I deplaud Missiles and Rockers of all kinds. If an army is not man enough to go onto the battlefield and line side by side in a column or line and charge the enemy then they shouldn't be fighting! Personally, in Greathanc's Imperial Army, Troops fight like this - in the Greathanc Colours of Black and Gold for Infantry, carrying 2 - 4cm Diametre Cannons each and tough Stainless Steel Armour. While an American platoon carries around a machine gun and no armour - who do you think will win? The machine gun firing 50 bullets, missing half the time, and not doing anything to the armour except once in about every 200 hits. Or a say 3cm diametre cannon, although firing about 10 rounds a minute hitting practically all the time due to time for aiming and whenever it hits, it goes in and comes out with an exit wound the size of a head. You decide!

PS. My Story is going well, I am researching battle stratagy at the moment!

Each time you touch the Registry, export either the individual Key you are altering or the total Registry to My Documents so you can undo any thing you mess up. If you do very much, create a system restore point before you change anything. It also helps to have some conception of what you are trying to acomplish.
