Have you considered trying to download SP3. This service pack applies to any level of Office XP. It contains all updates included in Office XP Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Office XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), and updates released after SP2.

You will need the Microsoft Windows Installer version 2.0 or later. Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 and XP include this version of the Windows Installer.

Yeah - that could be an answer; but everytime I've tried upgrading with a copied version of Office XP and indeed 2003 it will not work.

Lord Kalthorn, sorry, but I have to disagree with !! Office XP and Office 2000 both need the original CD that they were installed from, if you have a copied CD and istalled it on your system then you need to hold on to that CD for upgrading,, if you make another copy and try to use it during installation then it won't work. (of course there is way around it too if you lose youroriginal CD)

cheers

If it had asked for the CD I could have given it to it - but it didn't! No - I have a very expensive non-activation version, which is legal to copy as much as you want. I suppose when I brought it I lost the capability to use their services - which must cost them a good deal!
