"automatically connect" automatically disabled
I've noticed that even though I keep checking the "automatically connect" checkbox on the dial-up window, it unchecks itself every time I go to connect the next time. I've looked through the settings, and everything that (I think) has to do with automatically connecting seem fine. What settings and whatnot have been changed so it won't automatically connect when I tell it to?
Don't say go get cable. I wish.

Oops, forgot to mention something. I use NCIA, and I don't think we used a CD (I didn't do it), but this has only happened within the last couple weeks or so, and we've been on this ISP for at least a year. We're virus/trojan-free, and as far as I know nothing's wrong with the system.

go to the control panel, then phone and modem options, select your modem. click properties.on the modem tab make sure the dialup speed is 57600, not 115200. now click the advanced tab and put this in the extra commands.
AT&F
just like that, has to be capital letters. this will reset the modem to factory defaults. click ok, on each screen to close them, then reboot and see if it will save the setting.

make sure your modem speed is set as described above, and use the AT&F command, then when you double left click your connection, select properties before you dial. make sure the idle disconnect is disabled. if this does not resolve the situation it maybe the server does this to keep people from using a dedicated connection. also they could be detecting more then one of the same user accounts, since your is a "hacked connection".

it resets the modem to factory default settings, in case something has changed the settings (or someone tweaks it) and the settings are wrong, this brings it back to what it started with.

Just out of curiousity, why 57600 and not 115200? Nothing's been fiddled around with as far as I know, but won't that command reset the port speed to 57600 since it resets everything else and it hasn't been changed before?
