question

qI just installed a new Maxtor 30 gig ata133 hard drive on a RAID port on my motherboard because I have no regular IDE ports left, and the path is G: but I cant see it in My Computer, but if I go to run and type G: it will go there. Any way to have it show up in my computeR? Please let me know

Are you sure that you have the latest version of Windows with all updates? If not then this might be a bug that has already been addressed. Try searching the Knowledgebase.

It is probably a BIOS/motherboard issue.

Make sure your mobo can accept another HD.

Look in your BIOS to see if it sees it correctly; it it doesn't then Windows cannot see it correctly either.

I'm sure that this is a problem with your motherboard. I cannot think what it could be though.

I doubt it is motherboard or BIOS issue here. I have never used RAID but I guess it's like a SCSI adapter.

I would first test the HD by connecting it to a normal IDE port. If that works then give it a good format at the same time

Can you see the drive in Win Explorer as G: ?

Let me know the results...
