Disabling caching or shadowing in bios may help you start your computer without BSD but it will be so slow that you will get sick of it,,,,,, take your computer back from where ever you bought it from and asked them to change you memory stick(s), 9 out of 10 times it is RAM related,,, Recently I purchased 6 computer for my client and since they wanted cheap system I went out and got clone computer,,, two out of six computer had problem where you could not browse the network and launch and program without getting explorer.exe error or I would get BSD on boot up,, I change the RAM and it is working just fine now, you should do the same.

cheers

Just to be sure it's the RAM (to save you some cash possibly), run Memtest from M$, you can find it at http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

This will create a bootable disc image which you can burn to CD and use to boot and test your RAM. This tool is practically indispensable for maintenance calls.

It's my best friend. :-D

Also, don't expect to find caching and shadowing options in the BIOS, pre-built computers often have the BIOS locked.
