Why registry is modified??

Had many problems with my pc these days n just solved the AutoRun thingy.

I set the NoDriveTypeAutoRun value to HEX 95 (it was 91 actually)

But I wanna know y was the registry modified in the first place??

Auto run is enabled by default.

osakafanz, I don't mean to be rude,, but next time when you want to post something, first put yourself in our shows meaning you have no idea about the history of your computer, then explain the situation to everyone so they can understand where the question is coming from......that will make it easier to answer

i forgot abt it sorry guys
Heres the details n stuff

Version of XP
- Win XP SP1

Hardware setup
- P4 1.6g 256 ram

Any antivirus, firewall software you are running
-Norton Antivirus 2003

So btw I just formatted my hdd today (formatted C: 1st so that i can backup the files in D: afterwards; & then formatted D: )

So i dont understand how the registry could be modified so fast?!
