when i click on my name to log on my desktop comes up and if i put my cursor on a item on the desk top the computer will just start opening that program if i leave it on internet explorer it may open 30 or 40 in just a few seconds and i go in and close group to get rid of them and start over.

Your problem sounds like a program conflict. Go back and disable them one by one then shutdown and reboot to see if the problem is solved. If you had to install software (even if only a driver) to enable the router; start with it. I have seen people open up the go into MSCONFIG and disable practically all startup programs and then reboot to see if the problem effect had disappeared. If so, they enabled the former startup programs on by one to identify the specific offender. This can take some time since you have to reboot usually each instance; however, you have a mess and need to resolve it.
