As long as you get the removal tool plus switch of system restore before you remove the virus then you will be fine..

A reformat is always good but AVG was probably reading the virus from the tool that got rid of it so it was a false positive..

Atleast you know have a clean healthy drive.

open your system restore, make a new restore point, now go to accessories and run disk clean up, click more options, clean up system restore. the virus warnings will go away.

I would still AVG is a great AV but there is many others to choose from, everyone has there own preferances..

Try Anti Vir It has been downloaoded from the site i linked to you 140,000 times which speaks for itself.

Also Check this out a list and downlaods of many many good AV software.

A suggestion:

Over the past few years I have noticed that many people who have viruses are using alternative antivirus software programs.

I have been using Norton Antivirus since the day it was released. I can honestly say that I have never gotten a virus or a trojan.

I have my own email servers. The only protection I have against viruses and trojans is my firewall and NAV. I download about 300 to 400 viruses and trojans a day in my emails.

I have never gotten 1!

My personal opinion and suggestion........ditch the other antivirus software programs and get Norton Antivirus.

If I am correct Peter Norton invented antivirus software.
