Power save monitor on xp load up

This is a weird problem, I decided to get a new processor, and aslo decided a new motherboard would be helpfull, and some new memory. Well, i went form athlon 2000 to athlon 2800 barton. pcchips m848ALU motheroard, and soem samsung ddr 3200 256mb. Well i puteverything together, and everything seemde smooth, started to instal the drivers, sound was working, and everything, got my graphics card working. And then i installed he lan drivers, andtried to get connected to the net. Was having prolems, i soon realease an old nforce driver from my old motherboard had sneaked past me, wehn i did a troubleshootscan, it picked this up and failed on it. So i uninstalled it, windows prompted a restart, so i did. When i restarted, it was about to get to the login screen, the monitor goes into power save, very weird. But the pc is still runing i can log in and hear it log in and stuff, but cant see anything. Others hav had the same problem with XP. Dunno what it is, but it seems to be when they try and install it, but i got on it, then uninstalled the driver, and it fecked.
Plz help would be very gratefull

restart in safe mode, from the moment you turn on the system power, tap the F8 key constantly untill the boot menu appears. select safe mode and install the video driver you need for the new adapter.
