Sound Icon In Taskbar

hey im using windows xp professional and have not been having any problems but for some unnown reason my sound icon has dissapeared from the task bar. if anybody knows a simple solution to getting the icon back iw ill be very happy. the actual sound options (utilised through control panel) work fine its just the damm icon is gone. i extended the task bar out all the way and it wasnt there..jus in case ne1 was gonna say tht.

Go back to the sound options in the control panel and under the volume tab in the device volume box there is a setting to place the volume icon in the taskbar.
