javascript problem

My apologies for repeating an earlier post, but I'm still looking for help. When I click on a javascript link (say at cnn.com) the new frame momentarily flashes on my screen and then disappears. I have checked things like enabling scripting, disabling my popup blocker, etc. and can't find the magic fix. It's probably something simple, but I'm a computer dinosaur. Any help will be appreciated. I'm using XP SP2 with Norton Antivirus and the XP's popup blocker. I have already tried disabling the antivirus and popup stopper and that does not help.

try using other Web Browsers...

try firefox.
