Win Xp Upgrade Question

I purchased a laptop which came pre-installed with Win XP Home OS. My question is if I need Win 2000 can I upgrade it with a Win 2000 upgrade disc or would that be considered a Downgrade?
Also, can I purchase a Win XP Pro Upgrade (OEM) and upgrade my Win XP Home?

you can't go from xp to 2000, you are right there. you can upgrade to xp pro with an oem disk, you will have to get tech support from the oem vendor.
