losing dlls

In the last 24 hours I have had to reinstall xp 4 times. When I reboot the hal.dll is missing, how can I prevent this from happening?

Have you been trying to dual boot with another operating system?

This error can be the result of an incorrect Boot.ini file.

Normally if this is the case then a re-install should correct things, But if you have been trying to dual boot or possibly install over another system, the problem that was there originally will still be there no matter how many times you install.

The information on Doug Knox's site, Error Message: Cannot Find \Windows\System32\hal.dll should help you fix the problem once and for all.
