I have a new pc with one partition in a big harddisk running Windows XP Pro. Can someone tell me the steps to create a new partition from the OS partition using the built-in ultility.

Thanks,

Ray

you will need a third party software to do this without trashing the system you have installed now. partition magic is great for doing this, walks you through everything. you may find others that do it just as good, but i know pm works great and covers all the bases. some others dont reassign drive letters and can cause the system not to boot.

I recommend Acronis Partition Expert. It is simply the best and safest around. You will be able to resize and create partitions with point and click ease.
